About this ebook

Country star Emmy Lou King is singing the blues over the cowboy who got away...

Emmy Lou King's whole family is legendary in country music. When she lands the opportunity to sing the American Football League anthem and serve on one of the AFL's anti-drug charities, she's sure she can handle working with Brock Watson. She was charmed by the cowboy once upon a time—and she's never loved anyone else—but she can handle it. Right?

Brock Watson is feeling the pressure. From dealing with his father's declining health, to keeping their ranch running, staying in game-ready shape, and his dedication to the charity that changed his life, there's no time for anything else. Emmy Lou included. After six years, he'd like to think she couldn't mess with his head anymore. But one look, one smile—and he knows she's as dangerous as ever. He can't resist her—he never could.

The more time Emmy Lou spends with Brock, the harder it is for them to keep their distance.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Song for a Cowboy by Sasha Summers. I voluntarily agreed to read and review this book prior to publication. My opinions are my own, and no one has influenced them. Song for a Cowboy is a light-hearted western romance with endearing characters and an emotionally charged plot. The pacing pulled me in from the first page and kept me entranced until the last. Ms. Summers has really done her research of the music industry! Emmy Lou King is an endearing heroine. Her issues are ones I’ve struggled with most of my life, so I really identified with her. Her insecurities pulled at my heartstrings. While she understands her mother has problems, she is still stuck in her, please my mom at all costs! Brock Watson is a great hero with a lot of heart. While he has baggage, he doesn’t let it pull him down. I loved his back story as a drug addict and alcoholic since members of my family are also in recovery. That helped me bond with him right away. While his honor makes it impossible for him to tell Emmy Lou the truth at one point in the story, he doesn’t give up! The romance between Emmy Lou and Brock is amazing. It’s not only a strong physical relationship, it’s also an extremely emotional connection. For me the closed-door sexual scenes were perfect and just as satisfying as detailed scenes are. I really wanted them to find their way back to each other. If you enjoy contemporary western romances with great characters and a plot that has good depth, then you will love Song for a Cowboy as much as I did. This is the second book in the Kings of Country, and it’s as great as the first book, maybe even better. I can’t wait to read Travis’s story. Happy reading!

So glad to be back with the Kings! I'm a huge country music fan, so this story checks all my boxes. I love how sweet and compassionate Emmy is, even when she has to deal with Brock - the man who broke her heart. Brock is equally heartbroken by Emmy's rejection of him, and his life during the years they were separated was anything but easy. Still, his honor remained and he was a wonderful partner for Emmy. I adored the family dynamics between the siblings and their father, and I am absolutely loving the slow-burn reveal of Sawyer's secrets to everyone concerned. I love the way the author brings these people to life so effortlessly, making it feel like we're really in the midst of country music royalty. The HEA was simply beautiful, everything I could hope for. This story left me smiling for days. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
