About this ebook

EVIL ERNIE IS BACK, BABY!

Superstar writer Scott Lobdell, known for his fan-favorite

contributions to the X-Men franchise, Teen Titans, and the blockbuster horror

franchise Happy Death Day, is joined by artist Ariel Medel to revive the infamous

supernatural anarchist antihero in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Chaos! mythos.

Ernest Gleckman is a good kid, coming up on his college graduation and enjoying

his weekends with his band. He may have a bit of a bad-boy streak, but nothing close to where

life is about to take him! One night Ernest is mortally wounded, but manages to survive.

Now he must pay back his new “lease” on life as an avatar for a mysterious death cult.

He must assume the role of... Evil Ernie!

Evil Ernie Lives (2021) is Volume 3 of the Evil Ernie reboot by Dynamite Entertainment under their imprint Chaos! Dynamite. This time, he is incarnated yet again with a new origin story in Ernest Gleckman. As expected of the titular character, this comic is full of violence, blood and gore as Evil Ernie goes on a truly evil rampage to avenge himself. However, we also witness redemption and salvation as he learns about love and humanity. The line art is superb, with precise lines that are pleasant to look at. Likewise, the coloring art is excellent, with vibrant colors that pop and enhance the viscerality of the art. The story is well-written, emotional and grounded, with everything contained in the comic without leaving any leftovers or cliffhangers. A full-page cover gallery allows the reader to appreciate the variant covers in all their horrifying beauty. Highly recommended comic for both new and veteran readers alike.
