There's a really good idea behind this book but too many things feel off about it. The dialogue seems a bit contrived, the character motivations are a little off, there are a few too many clichés. Also, what's up with the main character passing out in almost every chapter, that just got really old.

A favourite of mine. Brutal Sci-fi body horror with an original premise and great storytelling. I don't tend to re-read books but this one I've read three times already and the sequels more than live up to it. Props to Sigler in the depth of research he put into the work in order to provide a nice hard sci-fi edge to it all. 5 stars, no 'bout a-doubt it.

I really enjoyed this book' the ending clearly left open for the sequel but I have read this over a few days and write this review at 1am having just read the last 150 pages or so without being able to put the book down.
About the author
A Michigan native and Newcastle United football fan, Scott Sigler now lives in San Francisco with his wife and their two dogs.
