About this ebook

For over a century, the Court of Owls has ruled Gotham City in secret - their reach inescapable, their power unstoppable. Until they battled the Batman. Gotham's vigilante protector managed to escape the talons of the Court with his mind and body barely intact. The Dark Knight managed to win the battle with his deadly new aggresors, but certainly not the war. Batman was just the first part of their conquest. Now they have their sights set on something much bigger: Gotham City. A critical and commercial smash, BATMAN: THE CITY OF OWLS (collecting BATMAN 8-12 and BATMAN ANNUAL #1) continues the instant-classic saga of the Dark Knight's battle with Gotham City's oldest and darkest forces from the #1 New York Times best-selling creative team of writer Scott Snyder (AMERICAN VAMPIRE) and artist Greg Capullo (Spawn), plus an array of talented guest contributors!

Scott Snyder is an extremely gifted author, with the skill to capture your attention such as the likes of John Grisham, Snyder is literature genius, he has such an unprecedented amount of skill to take you in and out of the story with different back and side stories while keeping your attention at the same time, never a dull moment. And this is coming from someone who doesn't read Comics out of sheer boredom!!! Scott Snyder is the only author That I will go out of my way to read a book from. It's Always surprising that he doesn't write screen reviews or write his own Batman game I would definitely buy that as well.

"City of Owls" is a fantastic climax to the Court of Owls story. Only downside of this collection is that the main story only takes up the first half of the book. The rest is backup stories that are wholly unnecessary and derail the flow of the story if you plan on moving right into Volume 3.
