About this eBook

Lewis hates spending all his free time working in Dad's failing chip shop. He hates that he can't have a dog. He hates that Rachel, the most popular girl in his year, is out of his league. But most of all he hates the gangs that hang out on the beach – the ones that make their dogs fight for fun. When the gang leave a friendly stray tied to the pier, Lewis has to help. But can he help her before the tide comes in... and will anyone help him?

A powerful and exciting read about growing up, feeling excluded and doing the right thing.

Highly readable, exciting books that take the struggle out of reading, Wired Up encourages and supports reading practice by providing gripping, age-appropriate stories for struggling and reluctant readers or those with English as an additional language aged 11+, at a manageable length (80 pages) and reading level (9+). Produced in association with reading experts at CatchUp, a charity which aims to address underachievement caused by literacy and numeracy difficulties.
