Luke Sheridan, a retired Navy Seal found his calling at a Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, a place where he could get the help he needed, and help others with PTSD. 

No family, just a long list of foster homes that he'd never felt like was home, at the ranch, he expected to finally settle down to a place he could feel he belonged. 

What he didn't expect, was his past to cross paths with his new future in the form of his first love, his only true love. 

Candice Lennon lived a hard life. 

After running from an abusive foster family, leaving behind the only boy she'd ever loved, she met Damien, a man far more abusive than any she'd experienced before. She fought her way out, barely surviving, and accidentally ran right into the arms of the boy she'd left behind, only now, he was a man. 

Still running from her past and suffering from PTSD from her abuse, she started to believe that just maybe, she had a future. When everything comes crashing down, and her past is revealed, her first reaction is to run, something she's always done.
