I enjoyed Chad and Dory's story in the fourth book in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series by Dana Mentink. I have not read the previous books in the series and thought it was fine as a stand a!one. (Not reading them is an error in my part that I plan to fix.) I'm thankful to Dana Mentink for sending me a free copy. She did not request a review. All opinions are my own. There is a lot of action and twists and turns in this book that make it hard to put it down. The characters are great and well developed. I loved Ivy and Meatba!l! Martin's use of descriptive language made each scene and character so easy to picture. I highly recommend this book.

The truth behind all those secrets Interesting how secrets seem to create more problems than telling the truth would have. This story is full of secrets, some of which have created lost time that can never be regained. Others have created the need for lies to cover up that original information. One has to wonder how different the world would be if we lovingly shared the truth.... There is plenty of danger, suspense and mystery to keep you reading right up until that last word. As a PI, Dory Winslow has been involved in many different cases, but none that have affected her so personally. Along with all the mystery comes a whole host of squelched memories, many of which have been hidden by secrets. Is it possible that the truth will set these secrets free? This digital copy was received through Love Inspired Suspense and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.

I'm sad that this series has ended. Like all books that Ms. Mentink writes, this was another fantastic story! She always has a lot of great character development, wonderful plotting and a lot of action that keeps me turning the pages quickly! Chad and Dory were high school sweethearts but then one day something went terribly wrong when Chad's father was accused of murder in a boating accident, sent to prison (with a little help from Dory's testimony) and they split up. Five years have gone by and new information has come to light. Dory is now a PI and she's determined to get the truth of what happened so her conscience will be clear. However, she doesn't plan on running into Chad again! Oops! Well, she's certainly not going to tell him about his secret daughter! However, as someone is determined to silence her before she finds out the truth, Chad is just as determined to save her from certain death! A great story of faith, forgiveness and staying alive!!!
