This was honestly probably the worst cycling adjacent book I've ever read. Using "Guide" in the title is misleading. Most content is opinion based and reads like a lifestyle blog from someone that mostly makes comments about other people being fast. There is little helpful content, and that's not being dramatic, the author actually argues such things as sunglasses helping the rider be faster. Of the content that isn't misinformative or opinion based, most of it is information anyone that already rides should know. Like not braking heavily into turns. This book will not help you "get fast."

Selene Yeager is a bestselling professional health and fitness author who is also a certified personal trainer, triathlete, and professional mountain bike racer. She has written, co-written, and contributed to more than two dozen books such as ROAR, Bike Your Butt Off!, and Get Fast! She is a frequent contributor to Runner’s World, Women’s Health, and Shape magazines, and has a regular advice column for Bicycling magazine called “Fit Chick.” She lives in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
