The property is an amazing oasis in the desert, a beautiful place with lush plants, water features, and a luxurious meeting facility. Retreat attendees stay in cute cabins, and Libbyโs black Lab, Shadow, is allowed to come along. They quickly settle into the quiet atmosphere, with healthful foods, juices, and meditation sessions that instill a wonderful sense of peace and stillness. Then things begin to go sideways.
Bellaโs newest friend in the group, a beautiful California girl named Jill, disappears. Another young woman dies suddenly, and Libby has a disturbing experience at a gathering and begins to notice things that donโt seem in keeping with the โlove and peaceโ vibe she initially felt. It becomes apparent that millions of dollars are being funneled through the organization, and encounters with a couple of unsavory characters have Libby wonderingโis this a legitimate religious group or some kind of cult?

Jennifer J. Morgan grew up in the desert Southwest where she always dreamed of becoming an author. Raised in New Mexico, and currently living in Arizona, she is a desert dweller through and through. Similar to her protagonist, Libby Madsen, she loves traveling and adventure.
When she was younger, she was a huge fan of mystery/suspense novelsโfavorites being Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and Sue Grafton. Cozy mystery is more of a favorite todayโenjoying the fun and adventurous spirit of authors such as Connie Shelton, Tonya Kappes, and CJ Love.
When sheโs not writing, Jennifer enjoys camping, hiking, and traveling with her husband and two dogs. She is also an arts and crafts nut, always taking on a new project that sparks her creativity.
Fun fact: Most of her characters in the Libby Madsen Cozy Mystery are named after beloved pets that have blessed her life overย fifty+ years. She is a HUGE animal lover (dogs, cats, birds...). Given the chance, sheโd rescue them all (including a few goats, chickens, ducks, you name it...). Or, as she likes to say, her animals have always rescuedย her.ย
