About this ebook

- The debut standalone novel of the NEXUS universe -

It sounds like a simple assignment: track down the mysterious Star Wraith and put an end to its rampage.

But when Travis Archer and his team of inept soldiers find themselves the most wanted people in the galaxy – hounded by assassins, terrorists and their own military – they realise the Wraith is just a symptom of a much larger problem...

Finding war raging between one army intent on destroying an entire species and another that will destroy the galaxy, Travis must put aside his fears and his past to uncover the truth behind it all. To become the hero he's always imagined.

SPOILERS: Fun book, it hits a lot of items on the list of cool Sci Fi stuff, plus an unexpected appearance from mythical guest stars for good measure. Very funny dialogue. Unfortunately there was a completely pointless waste of life in the end because the main character is an idiot and forgot he has had a mega weapon since the beginning of the book that could have completely avoided the last battle. or at least significantly lowered the amount of casualties of the Terran fleet.

I really enjoyed this book. Nice construction of characters and background information. Not heavyhanded. Description of Enemy,or antagonist was fitting, allowed separation from reality , enough to enjoy storyline without usual negative effects or feelings of disgust of violence in real world environment.

About the author

Ross Harrison is the author of novels and short stories in the realms of science fiction - specifically space opera and science fantasy - thriller, noir, and post-apocalyptic steampunk. He has been writing since childhood, and occasionally likes to revisit those old stories for a good cringe and nervous laugh. He also writes about himself in the 3rd person because it seems more professional.

Ross lives on the UK/Eire border in Ireland, where he moved from England in 2001, hoping the rain will help his hair grow back.
