About this ebook

What if the way Christians talk about sex actually makes it worse?

Based on a groundbreaking in-depth survey of over twenty thousand women, The Great Sex Rescue pulls back the curtain on what is happening in Christian bedrooms and exposes the problematic evangelical teachings that wreck sex for so many couples--while pointing couples to what they should have been told all along.

Experience the relief of knowing that you are not broken! Elusive pleasure, mismatched desires, perpetual sexual temptation--that doesn't need to be your story any longer. This book will help you

● Discover what's holding back your sex life
● Replace harmful teachings with ones focused on freedom, passion, and love
● Move forward with check-in questions, practical applications, and reframing exercises
● Find the abundant life Jesus wants for you

The Great Sex Rescue is a long overdue corrective to church culture, helping couples awaken the kind of intimacy and passion God intended.

This book not only opened my eyes to evangelical teachings I wasn't even aware of, but also helped me realize the subconscious views I developed from things I was exposed to as a child. I'm so glad these authors took the time to write such an inspiring and beautiful book. I will be reccomending it to anyone I can, 5/5 from me.

A family of women collectively wrote a Christ centered, adjustment to decades of repetitive message on bedroom roles and expectations. The beauty is that, with authority, the author's warn how religious norms can become a burden for people when distortions benefit one side. TGSR is balance. The authors didn't swing wildly to left wing vengeance in order to prove something isn't working. Survey results embody Jesus warnings; "Whoever has ears let them hear." They took the opportunity to acknowledge growth; instead of forcing action based on single sided upset. They pointedly uncovered toxic behavior and unavoidable inconvenience dressed-up as theological morality. If the church body keeps doing the same things and aren't getting closer to each other, at some point we have to wonder, "Why did Jesus just flip over my table?" Thank you ladies for recognizing the stench of sacrifices that didn't have the God centered, people honoring motive.

Having been raised in evangelical culture, many of the bad teachings addressed in this book ended up permeating my marriage. Sheila does an incredible job unraveling, providing not an insignificant amount of hope and progress for my own situation.
