About this ebook

Recognize possible acute injury to the brain. Evaluate the severity of the brain injury according to the history of the events and the patient's clinical state: mild (concussion) , moderate or severe brain injury.Keep the possibility of an intracranial haemorrhage in mind.Refer patients in need of emergency treatment to a hospital; make sure that the accompanying person has sufficient competence in emergency medical care. Monitor the level of consciousness and the general condition of the patient even if the brain injury is mild. Carefully record the duration of the memory gap after the injury, because it has the best correlation with the severity grade of the brain injury. It is also important from the insurance-juridical perspective.
