Her heroines, however, tend to lack self preservation instincts or skills. Sadly, this is not a virtue. It does not make them seem selfless. It makes them seem both idiotic and selfish. Add to that the many occasions where homonyms like "hurdle and hurtle" and "metal and mettle" are incorrectly used and you have potentially great stories with acne and PMS. If you can look past these, they're stories worth reading.

I have to give this book 4 1/2 stars out of 5. I have read so many romance thrillers over the years that I bore very easily. This book never once bored me. I highly recommend this, even though I particularly don't care for stories about crime lords or mafia. Again, the story was interesting and I never felt that the plot was contrived or silly. I truly liked these characters- except for Julia. And the puppies were a delightful addition. I loved where she is thinking who has 7 puppies? Because I had the same problem and I now have 6 dogs!

No one's in Snow White situation here. Everything seems grimy even for the innocent. Building trust is Ian's lead. Fleeing harsh realities brings Taylor into several moments of crises--especially from her family's perspective.
