Fighting Dirty: Worth the Fight Series

Audible: Narrator – Lacy Laurel Wow, Ms. Laurel does an exceptional job with this book! There are so many characters that have an accent and she managed them all beautifully. I will definitely be remembering her name when I’m shopping for a new audiobook. Enzo has been watching Jamie Lynn for the last year. A few months ago he finally made a move and kissed her. Despite the heat in that kiss, she has turned him down every single time he’s asked her for a date. When she finally gives in she turns the table on him and takes him out. What he thought he knew about her was nothing compared to what he learned over the course of the next few days. She is wild and untamed, fiercely independent and incredibly talented. His life has been ruled by his father and his ex-wife. For the first time in years he can breathe and he’s ready to inhale everything that is Jamie Lynn. This was an awesome book! I loved these characters and their quirky ways as well as their humorous and passionate relationship. The pages sizzle when these two get together and Enzo is the perfect alpha protective possessive hero. I loved everything about him. While there is just a tad pushing away from J.L., it didn’t last long because she’s strong enough to know what she wants and she wants Enzo. I actually liked that she was strong enough to admit when she was weak although she found that strength with the hero. I’ve definitely gotta check out any other books this author may have written regarding secondary characters. Dual POV Safe No apparent triggers

For a year, Enzo has been asking Jamie Lynn (JL) out. Every time she turned him down. To JL, Enzo is a stuck up, neat freak, staid suit wearing business man who does not know how to relax and have fun. JL is a carefree, confident, tattooed, woman who changes her hair color to match her mood (pink, magenta) and speaks her mind. When Enzo loses a bet and does something way out of his comfort zone, JL sees him in a different light. So she asks him for a date. This date lasts four days. Although they come from different back grounds, they seem to work. They have some sizzling, hot chemistry between them. I like how this author makes them feel like normal, everyday people with normal conversations. Not a lot of inner turmoil. I like the feeling of family, comradeship between the characters. It was a little predictable at times (no spoiler). Neither one changed for the other but became stronger together. I like how the author is able to intertwine the characters from the other books that are part of this series (Against the Cage, Full Contact, Below the Belt, and Laid Out). It’s like you get to see how their lives have transpired since you read their story. However, you don’t have to necessarily read those to enjoy this one, but I think it would help. I will continue reading books by this author. Hope Travis’s story is next.

Another amazing story in the Worth the Fight series! Enzo and JL have been skating around each other in the last couple of stories and now we have theirs. I love the balance these two characters brought to each other. Enzo was always so stuffy and uptight but JL brings out his more carefree adventurous side. JL is one tough cookie. Growing up the way she did she had to be but Enzo brings out a softer side to her. Their relationship is a struggle from the beginning but definitely worth the fight! This author and series has quickly become one of my favorites. I definitely recommend this book!
