What can I say except that this book was simply enjoyable and an interesting change of pace for the usually fantasy and magic focused Brandon Sanderson. This was a fantastic first part of a sci-fi romp that actually did a good job working around some usual writing habits, with plenty of foreshadowing leading into a solid conclusion. Although I still look forward the most to several sequels in the works, this is a fun journey that I'll be happy to continue.

I bought this book 17 hours ago and just finished it. Last night I managed to read the first 300 pages (60% of the ebook ok my screen) in about 4 hours. Even for me, this is fast, but I was so incredibly hooked. This book had major enders game vibes. The last 200 pages went by in a blast and I honestly can't wait for the sequel.

Once again Brandon does just such an amazing job building an immersive world. But the world is not the thing that pulls you in and draws you close and makes you feel so invested in the story; it's the characters. His characters feel real. In this story, spin, jerkface, hurl, nebb, and more... they all feel real. Some might say that this story brings them back to Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, and there are similar elements to those that made Ender's story so captivating, yet Spin & co are unique.
