Small-Scale Mechanical Testing focuses on testing techniques for metals, nanomaterials, biomaterials, thin films and coatings, and polymers, plastics, and composites. Both numerical and lab-based experiments are covered as are correlation methodologies for data transferability, correlation between different techniques while connecting to bulk scale evaluations, the use of numerical simulation/analysis for data inversion, and the development of a common code of practice. Murty is a professor of nuclear engineering and materials science at North Carolina State University, USA, and a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and the American Society for Materials International. Professor Murty has extensive experience in the field and has published over 290 technical papers on related topics. He was the first recipient of the ANS Mishima Award for outstanding research in nuclear materials.
