This collection presents 24 carols skillfully arranged by flatpicking guitar champion Steve Kaufman that range in treatment from beautiful, lyrical guitar settings to rousing, joyous flatpicking solos. All 24 songs are played through three times. The first time as it appears in the book and the two versions that follow are improvised versions, making this both a listening tool and an ear training tool. In notation and tablature. Steve Kaufman's father was a jazz piano player, and his mother was a classically trained pianist. At four Steve started plinking at the piano and did so for several years. He then moved on to the electric guitar at 10 years old for a few years and put it away.

Next the Cello for a few years then back to the acoustic guitar again. His brother, Will, started playing banjo and his instructor told him he needed a rhythm guitar player to help keep time. So Steve picked up his guitar again and got into bluegrass rhythm.

He began producing books and videos in 1989 after teaching private lessons for close to 20 years. His catalog of instructional materials is now over 100 items. Steve began touring the world conducting seminars, workshops, clinics and concerts in 1990 and after 5 years he and his wife, Donna, began "Steve Kaufman's Flatpicking Camp."

Since 1990 Steve has developed the reputation of being the "World's Guitar Instructor."

Steve stays busy with running his Kamps, tour schedule and teaching his online live group lessons.
