About this eBook

CHILDHOOD FRIENDS

Annie Pope loves Finn Burton, and he loves her too—as a friend. Even after they both begin college, they return every year to their families’ neighboring cottages, work summers at the local food market, and spend all their spare time together.

MAKE CHOICES

But when Finn graduates and takes off backpacking through Europe with his college girlfriend—a girlfriend he’s never mentioned to Annie—she’s forced to face facts. She is merely the sister he never had, and he’s the boyfriend she’ll never have.

THAT TIME CAN’T ERASE

Two decades later, life hasn’t turned out as Annie had hoped, but she’s come to terms with it. In fact, she’s content with her life—that is, until her daughter and Finn’s son show up and announce they’re getting married, bringing Finn Burton back into her life.

BUT CAN LOVE?

Now they’re both trying to be the good friends they’d once been. But friendship has never felt like this.

First, let me say that although this is not my favorite of Ms. Jarvis' books, I did like it. The first chapter was a bit disjointed. It didn't flow freely and took a bit for it to even out. The heroine seemed somewhat immature and self-centered at the beginning and she held on to the bitterness for too long. I would have just let it go. After that, the storyline smoothed out and I grew to like the main characters. I loved their funny dialogue. The scenery, the snow, the decorations, and the Christmassy feelings were the best parts of the book. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.

Annie has always loved Finn, but Finn has always loved Annie like a friend. They go their separate ways until twenty years later when their kids tell them they are getting married and now Annie and Finn are always around each other again. This time things will be different and the two are both divorced so they have that in common as well. The characters have great backstories and their kids are terrific. The storyline was well written with surprises, drama, fun, nostalgia and romance. Loved the banter and the ending was great. One great storyline in romance is when the main characters have loved each other for years, but frustratingly nothing has happened. You want to smack them for being obtuse. J.L. Jarvis has mastered the concept in this heartwarming Christmas story. *spoiler* Finn and Annie have known each other since childhood. After failed marriages they are thrown together when their children begin the journey to love. They finally get their happily ever after when they have to traverse the Christmas holiday and child drama. FINALLY! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
