About this eBook

Resident bad boy Jackson Matoa is not very good at expressing his feelings. Especially when those feelings include an inexplicable desire toward his brother’s widow. And if the blow from his young brother’s death wasn’t enough to break him, the guilt of his unwavering lust for his sister-in-law just might...

Despite her best efforts, Truth Richards can’t seem to make sense of her feelings for her insufferable brother-in-law. She’s certainly not willing to admit just how deep those feelings run. With one phone call, Truth finds herself returning to Cedar Bend and forcing her way back into Jackson’s life.

Yet with the pain of their lost still fresh, can these two broken hearts borrow each other’s strength to find happiness with each other? Or will their guilt and grief push them further apart?

What do you do when the most magnetic man you have ever met is your bad boy brother-in-law whom you've just been introduced to? And if he kisses you before he even knows your name, what do you tell his brother? With a less than ideal first impression, Truth finds herself prevaricating and feeling uncomfortable in the presence of Jackson. He on the other hand, realises that he has stepped badly out of line and does his best to ignore and put as much distance between Truth and himself. When Danny loses his life, both Truth and Jackson are devastated, but handle their grief differently, forcing Truth to put even more distance between them, taking on nursing assignment all over the US. When Truth receives a desperate phone call from Jackson, she returns to his hometown to take care of him, only to realise that the attraction between them is as electric as ever. Both of them are dealing with their guilt and both make mistakes. I personally found this romance to be somewhat earth, but it wasn't offensive in any way. Jackson is basically a good guy with a tender heart, as evidenced by his caring for Daisy, but he is so used to keeping people at a distance that he is his own worst enemy. Although it would appear that this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a stand alone and both Truth and Jackson eventually come to their senses. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Every life is full of surprises. Some good, others not so much. It's how we handle the ups and downs that gives us the strength to become who we are meant to be. Truth and Jackson are a complicated pair. From first meeting they got under each other's skin. He was the tough guy with the seductive eyes and the frustrating demeanor. She was a beauty finding her wings in a world, that was not always kind. Attraction was instant, but forbidden. Truth was a newlywed and Jackson's sister - in - law. When fate hands her a raw deal and tragedy comes knocking at her door, Truth must find the courage to make her own way in the world. Through the grief and uncertainty, she finds herself facing her past, following her heart and falling in love again. One brother captured her heart, will the other brother help her piece it back to together. Something Borrowed begins with a love triangle that is a heartbreak waiting to happen and ends up being a tale of hope for anyone who has loved, loss and found the courage to try again.

Something Borrowed was a good 4 star read. This is part of the Cedar Bend Brides series. This is Truth and Jackson’s story. Truth and Jackson meet when he mistakes her as a groupie and gives her a heck of a kiss. Then he finds out that Truth is married to his brother Danny, oops. Although their moment was very steamy. When tragedy strikes Truth and Jackson’s world gets turned upside down. Jackson has a bad way of dealing with it and has become mean and bitter. When Truth gets a call she returns back to Cedar Bend where she see’s Jackson. It has been over a year that these two had any contact. Can these two help each other move forward? Can they have a HEA? I really enjoyed this story and I did have some teary eyed moments here and there. You could feel the chemistry between Truth and Jackson. This is a great story of hope, loss, love and moving forward after tragedy.Lena Hart does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Read by M.Austin
