This was my first foray into the bizarre world of Stephen King and wow, what an introduction it was. This book draws you in completely and you soon find yourself totally encompassed in the dark, twisted world in which Carrie lives. As if it's not bad enough for her having to live with her deranged, god fearing mother, she also has go to school and deal with constant bullying there too. It's hard to believe that any teenage girls behaviour was ever as vile and hateful as it is in this book.

Before I read this book I had heard of the movie. I first had become interested in Carrie and her story. I had to get the book, and when I started to read it. Meeh, it was alright, though the movie was very graphical and frightening, I didn't really see the scary ness through the book. The amount of P.O.Vs that it had really got me confused with the book, the pig splash didn't really have a lot of description to it. Though the way Carrie died really got to me, nearly made me cry a bit. 4.5/5 amazing book.

I found this a very quick read; not as long-winded as other novels by King, but it doesn't lack in any quality or value. There's a reason why they've made multiple film versions of this book.
