About this eBook

Minor league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed.

After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime.

Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, even though I’ve demanded she leave me alone.

Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only…that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be.

I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

I’ve said it before and I shall say it again that this author never ceases to amaze me with her wildly entertaining hockey romances! I have been most curious about Stone since he was first mentioned in the Pittsburgh Titan series and his story is everything! You would think that given the number of sports romances that this author has written that things would be getting stale, but each and every single one of her books have engaging storylines and unique characters. Thus making each novel an original and unforgettable read. Stone and Harlow’s story is sure to capture your heart and put you through an array of emotions. Both are strong, likable, perfectly flawed characters with a complexity that makes them seem so real and easy to identify with. They both have intriguing backstories and often times my heart hurt for these characters, especially for Stone. Stone managed to burrow his way into my heart and Harlow is the type of woman that I would love to have in my corner. The character development is spot on and I really enjoyed how they each grew individually and as a couple. This was an emotional read for me and I loved every minute of it! If you love hockey romances, this is one that you don’t want to miss! Stone is an emotional sports romance that is sure to pull at your heartstrings!

Stone is the second book in the Pittsburgh Titans series and we continue to learn more about the players that are making up the rebuilt Titans team. Stone Dumelin lost his younger, and only, brother when the Titans plane went down. While he had started his career in the NHL, a series of injuries set him back and he's spent the last period of time in the minors. To say that Stone's relationship with his family is strained is an understatement. Now that he's been tapped to be a part of the rebuild of the team, Stone has a lot to process as he tries to move forward with life. Harlow Alston comes from a family of lawyers and while she did follow in the family footsteps in terms of a career, she decided to go in a different direction in terms of her practice and the clients she helps. What she isn't expecting is to be named trustee of the estate of her friend, Brooks Dumelin. She knows the situation with his family and she knows that reaching out to Stone is going to be one of the most difficult things she's had to do. Harlow and Stone get off on the wrong foot from the get-go. Stone wants nothing to do with anything concerning his brother and yet Harlow wants to do right by her friend by doing everything he asked of her. Once Stone listens to what Harlow has to say, he realizes maybe there is more that he needs to learn about his brother and with Harlow's help, he might be able to do it. Will this also ignite sparks between the forward and the esquire?! Both Stone and Harlow were dealing with a lot throughout this book. You could see the growth of both characters as the storyline moved along and it was nice to see how they were so supportive of one another as their relationship began to grow and change. Another solid addition to this series!

PHENOMENAL BOOK, SERIES!!!! And no, I am not being biased being a “Yinzer” myself. I have been following Sawyer Bennett for quite a while and have loved every book I have read of hers. When I heard about her latest series being named the “Pittsburgh Titan”, I could not wait for it to hit my tablet!!! I crushed BIG TIME on the first book in the series, Baden, so I knew the series was going to be great. Ms. Bennett continued the phenomenal series in the 2nd book of the series, Stone. The books in this series are definitely emotional, how could they not, considering how the series came about in Ms. Bennett’s mind. Stone Dumelin and Harlow Alston both carry baggage into this story. Sorry Ladies, I will not give anything away. You NEED to read the book; the baggage brings so much intel into the story. I will say this, I HATED Stone’s father so much that if I saw him on the street, I would be tempted to punch him in the face for what he did to his sons. I loved how Harlow made Stone see himself in a new light. And the diaries… Sorry will not go into them either. I will say that they just heated up my hatred of Stone’s father. I loved this book so much because of all of the emotions that were brought into the story. I cannot even imagine the emotions that Stone would have gone through knowing he basically replaced his dead brother on the team. I am so glad that he had Harlow, even after that initial meeting…. I was gifted with a copy of this book because of my love of reading romance, and for my thought and opinions on the book. In my honest opinion, Ms. Bennett started with the bar high with the first book in the series Baden and has kept the bar just as high with Stone, the second book in the series. If you like to read romance books, you will LOVE Stone, and the whole Pittsburgh Titan series. Thank you for reading my review.
