Ludwig analyzes the Turkish and Persian Latin of the Epistolae Turcicae. In the volume's final contribution, Karin Reich analyzes the exchange of letters between the mathematician Gauss and his friend and biographer, the geologist Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen.
