Acerca del autor

James Riley (1777-1840) was an American sea captain. Born in Middletown, Connecticut, Riley began his maritime career at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to become a captain. His life-changing ordeal in Africa left an indelible mark on him, and his book became a bestseller upon its release in 1817.
