The Ṛgveda saṃhitā is the core of the organised Ṛgveda. It has 10 maṇḍala-s and over 10,500 verses. Being a large collection of verses, the Veda-s can take many years for the dedicated to read and master. To make the Veda-s more accessible, Supadma is making smaller divisions of Ṛgveda that can each be read in a month. Our division is based on Pravara, an identifier for ancestry. In this first book of this series, the verses belonging to the “kaśyapaḥ — avatsāraḥ — nidhruviḥ” pravara have been compiled. The text includes the mūla, padapāṭha, simple meaning, sāyaṇa bhāṣya, and detailed meaning. We sincerely hope that this Veda mini-book will connect the readers back to their roots by giving a glimpse of their own ancestors’ contributions to the Veda-s.
