Amanda and Lucius’ story The Neonatal Doc’s Baby Surprise by Susan Carlisle, book two in the Miracles in the Making series, is a wonderful and enjoyable tale. Amanda is in Sydney for an opportunity to learn about infertility procedures at a clinic directed by Dr. Lucius West. Independent, self-assured, and direct, Amanda is not afraid to challenge Lucius in the OR, or out. These clashes turn into passion in the bedroom; but they soon learn there are consequences to their unquenchable desire. Amanda would stay if only Lucius would ask or admit his feelings to her; she just wanted to be loved. Unable to reach an understanding before Amanda’s deadline of returning to the US, she decides to raise the baby on her own. However, absence, or in this case, separation, makes the heart grow fonder and the lovers lonelier missing their partner. Ms. Carlisle wrote an wonderful, flirty, and enjoyable romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Amanda and Lucius a chance at a forever love and family. I highly recommend The Neonatal Doc’s Baby Surprise to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
