About this ebook

The Baxter sisters have only ever had one another – until one fateful summer when Sunshine and Margot turn disastrous luck into destiny...

Etiquette coach Margot Baxter knows precisely how to manage wayward clients...until she comes face-to-exquisite-face with Bianca, an aging movie star notorious for her shock-and-awe tactics. Schooling Bianca on the fine art of behaving like a diplomat’s wife is the greatest challenge of Margot’s career. Soon secrets unravel that bring them closer together and force Margot to confront the truth: change doesn’t just happen. She has to be brave enough to demand the life – and love – she’s always wanted.

For years, Sunshine has been the good-time sister, abandoning jobs to chase after dreams that will never come true. No more. She refuses to be "that girl" again. This time, she’ll finish college and dedicate herself to her future. And she 100 percent will not let her life get derailed by a man again...no matter how tempting that man may be.

Master storyteller Susan Mallery weaves threads of family drama, wit, heart and a wish-you-were-there setting into one of the most satisfying books of the year!

I really enjoyed this story of two sisters, funnily enough called Sunshine and Margot(!), and their lives. Margot is a etiquette coach and has just started a job with an older movie star, Bianca, to help her fit into her partner's diplomatic life. Bianca is known for being a bit of a loose canon and she is trying to change (but not making a very good job of it in this book!). Margot really has her work cut out for her! Whilst working for her she moves into Bianca's son's house, where Bianca is also currently living. The house sounded wonderful as it used to be an old monastery and had real character to it. Alec is the complete opposite to his Mother, very reserved and likes everything quiet and in order, but his orderly life is thrown by the arrival of Margot, as she is quite like him but more outgoing. Sunshine has done various jobs over the years, and run all over the world with boyfriends, but just started a nanny job for a little boy Connor (very cute) and his Father, Declan. Declan and Connor have recently lost their wife/mother to cancer and so Declan is trying his best to help Connor through it but needs help as he also has to keep working as he has his own successful landscaping business. Sunshine has had various relationships that never work out, men fall over themselves because of her looks, but she is now looking for a serious relationship and to get her life in order, taking classes at college too to get more qualifications. The two sisters were quite different in some ways, but had a really lovely relationship with each other. Really enjoyable, quite gentle story about life and relationships, that just worked so well, with a lovely ending. You can certainly understand why Susan Mallery is a best-selling author as she has a magic way with words.
