About this ebook

In this sweet and sexy spin-off of New York Times bestselling author Kate Pearce’s beloved Morgan Ranch series, the close-knit folks of Morgantown, California, have long memories—and big hearts to go with them.

Everyone in rancher Danny Miller’s life wants to know how he feels about his teenage flame returning to Morgan Valley. Danny wishes he knew. After the disastrous ending of their relationship, and Faith’s choice to leave town all those years ago, Danny’s rebuilt his life without her. But he’s about to have a very practical reason for needing her in it again—despite the very impractical desire she inspires once he lays eyes on her . . .

Faith McDonald hadn’t planned on returning home, but with her dad retiring, her help is needed at the family veterinary practice. She’s hoping that by now, folks have forgotten what happened between her and Danny—even if the two of them never can. With a mystery infection decimating the Miller cattle, she and Danny soon find themselves on the same side for the first time in forever. There was a lot of trouble in their past, but the good parts never really flamed out, including their intense attraction. And their shared determination to cure the cattle might just lead them to a healing of their own—and a whole new all-grown-up future . . .

Praise for The Rebellious Rancher

“Sensual. . . . This sexy tale is sure to please cowboy fans.”

Faith and Danny get a second chance to get it right After their teenage romance went up in flames, Faith left town without looking back while Danny channeled his hurt and anger into working his family's ranch. Now Faith is back, taking over her father's veterinary practice, and finding out that there's no going forward without first trudging through the emotional debris she left behind. I loved seeing the Miller family again and I love how the author works in the rest of the family history and changes without losing focus on the primary romance. Danny is such a terrific guy, and though it took me a while to warm to Faith, in the end I could really sympathize with the decisions she was facing and the choices she made, regardless of the fallout. If ever a young couple deserved a second chance, it's these two. There's so much love that only their life experiences could help them discover buried deep in their hearts. Their HEA was a perfect joy to read. I love all the Morgan Valley books, especially the Miller family. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy as I loved it and wanted to help support a favorite author. First thing about this book that as it is a part of a series of the Miller siblings of Morgan Valley, it can be read as a stand-alone. That being said, I would highly recommend reading the series especially if you adore cowboys finding their true love. This book, along with the series, is very well written. The plot flows beautifully to the point that I felt like I was right there with them. I loved that prior characters also made multiple appearances so I was able to revisit "old friends". This tale of a second chance with a first love that did not disappoint. I heart broke for these two. I loved how the author kept the lines of communication open but just enough so the characters came across as more mature (since they were both 34) and not childish. This book is written in a dual POV format. Getting that glimpse into a character's thoughts during a scene, really helps me to connect with them better. I can really identify and enjoy the story so much better that way. This is a sexy read with a small scene between the two main characters. Also I applaud the author of introducing to a small degree Faith's brother's love of someone that may offend some. BUT she did it in a way that they only danced and embraced. That being said I would highly recommend this wonderful story to anyone OVER the age of 18.

I always enjoy Kate Pearce's work. This one surprised me. It wasn't one of my favorites. I can say that I didn't like Danny's father anymore in this book , than I did in previous books. I can also say that I wasn't thrilled with either of Faith's parents. It seemed to me like most of the people in this town had some kind of grievance about something. It didn't feel like a happy place. Trying to be completely honest, I know the situation with the possible outbreak was used to bring Danny and Faith closer. I thought more time was spent on the cows than on Danny, Faith, their past situation and their romance. I also feel kind of cheated. After reading through pages and pages of cow infections, trying to piece together their back story with information only gained by a process resembling dripping water, the back and forth uncertainty of them as a couple, throwing in the ridiculousness of Faith's relationship with her business partners, and then Jeff's revelation, we got one scene with Faith and Danny and the book ends. There was a long, and often tedious path to the end of this book. It was so unlike the author's previous works, I had to double check the identity of the writer. There was more struggle than romance in this book. I only wish that the last chapter could have been drawn out to include the reactions to Danny and Faith's decision, or something about Danny's decision about his future, his career; or, ANYTHING about what was next for them. I admit to being disappointed. It was just a LONG, ok read for me. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from NetGalley.
