‘निरंजन’च्या लेखनातला सूक्ष्म विनोद मला फार आवडतो, असं म्हणणारे श्री. घाटे यांचे बरेच लेखकमित्र आणि वाचकमित्रही आहेत.श्री. घाटे यांनी उमेदीच्या काळात ‘मनोहर’मध्ये ‘मेरी गो राऊंड’ हे हलकंफुलकं, विनोदाची झाक असलेलं सदर चालवलं होतं. याशिवाय ‘वटवट’ नावाच्या विनोदाला वाहिलेल्या मासिकाची बरीच जबाबदारी – विशेषत: पानं भरायची जबाबदारी घाटे यांच्यावर असे. घाटे यांना जवळून ओळखणाऱ्याना घाटे यांच्याकडे असलेल्या विनोदांचा साठा किती मोठा आहे याची कल्पना आहेच; पण त्यांच्या बोलण्यातला मिस्कीलतेचा भावही ते विसरू शकत नाहीत.

घाटे यांच्या मूळ स्वभावाचा परिचय करून देणाऱ्या या एकप्रकारे गप्पाच आहेत.ते विज्ञानलेखनाकडे वळले आणि त्यांचं असं हलकंफुलकं लेखन मागं पडलं. ‘तरुणांनो होशियार’द्वारा या त्यांच्या कथांना पुन्हा उजाळा मिळतोय, ही एक चांगली गोष्ट आहे. या कथांमुळे तत्कालीन तरुणाईचंही दर्शन आजच्या वाचकाला होईलच; पण त्याचा टाइमपासही चांगल्या प्रकारे होईल.

Sobre l'autor

Shri. Niranjan Ghate has a unique style with a touch of humour which is liked by many. His column ‘Mary Go Round’ in ‘Manohar’ monthly magazine often revealed this side of the author. He had penned down a lot for the magazine ‘Vatvat’. Those who are close to him are well aware of the way he plays with words creating humour.This book itself allows us to understand the author in a better way. Since he turned his attention to sci-fi, he did not get much time for writing in any other form. The present book has wherein cast a glance at this particular angle once again. This will help to know the style of youth back then.
