About this ebook

King Arthur is destined to return, and Tom is destined to wake him.

When sixteen year old Tom’s grandfather mysteriously disappears, Tom stops at nothing to find him, even when that means crossing to a mysterious and unknown world.

When he gets there, Tom discovers that everything he thought he knew about himself and his life was wrong. Vivian, the Lady of the Lake, has been watching over him and manipulating his life since his birth. And now she needs his help.

Danger threatens the old forest of Vivian’s world. To save it, Tom must wake King Arthur, who’s been sleeping for centuries. But first, he’s determined to find his grandfather.

Tom starts a journey that will change his life forever. He discovers that fey and magic still exist, and myths are very real.

If he wants to survive, he must learn to fight, and find courage he never knew he had.

If you love magic, mystery, and Arthurian legend, you’ll love Call of the King, book 1 of Rise of the King.

Enjoyed reading this book, a different take on the Arthurian legend. Felt it was aimed more at young adults, but as a retired bloke still enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the next in the series.

⚔️⚔️ONE BLOCK BUSTING TREAT⚔️⚔️ Exceptional! Green hits it hard, fast and furious, showcasing every trip, snag or tumble, dropping the bomb and lowering the boom, hitting all the hot spots and triggering traps, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Toss in the drama, intrigue, tension, turmoil, revelations, escalating suspense and intense situations, along with a boatload of mayhem, you have one prize winning experience. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this baby into a roaring tempest, catapulting it into a tailspin with an astonishing culmination. Bound, wound and tightly woven, imparting the soaring ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and breathtaking in it's depth, drawing our characters closer than they could have ever anticipated. The characters, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Incredible job Green, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

About the author

I write books about magic, mystery, myths and legends, and they're action packed!

My adult urban fantasy series is called White Haven Witches. There’s lots of magic, action, and a little bit of romance. I’ve also written a spin-off called White Haven Hunters.

My YA series, Rise of the King (previously called Tom's Arthurian Legacy), is about a teen called Tom and his discovery that he is a descendant of King Arthur. It's a fun-filled clean read with a new twist on the Arthurian tales.

I've got loads of ideas for future books in both series, including spin-offs, novellas and short-stories, so if you'd like to be kept up to date, subscribe to my newsletter. You'll get free short stories, free character sheets, and other fun stuff. Interested? Subscribe at tjgreen.nz

When I'm not writing -

I was born in England, in the Black Country, but moved to New Zealand 14 years ago. England's great, but I'm over the traffic! I now live near Wellington with my partner Jase and my cats Sacha and Leia. When I'm not busy writing I read lots, indulge in gardening and shopping, and I love yoga.

Confession time! I'm a Star Trek geek - old and new - and love urban fantasy and detective shows. Secret passion - Columbo! Favourite Star Trek film is the Wrath of Khan, the original! Other top films - Predator, the original, and Aliens.

In a previous life I was a singer in a band, and used to do some acting with a theatre company. On occasions a few of my friends and I make short films, which begs the question, where are the book trailers? I'm thinking on it ...
