T.R. Sahu
Dr. T.R. Sahu is presently a senior Professor of Botany & Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Dr. H.S. Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar. He is an executive councilor of the University. He has a long term interest in the field of Plant Taxonomy, Biodiversity, Botanic Garden, Environment Ethnobotany and medicinal plants. He is an expert member of State Biodiversity Board of M.P. Dr. Sahu is awardee of Dr. R.K. Samman of M.P. Uccha Skhisha Anusandhan Ayog & Dr. Y.D. Tiagi medal of Indian Association for Angiosperms (IAAT). He is a secto- rial coordinator to center for Indigenous Knowledge on Indian Bioresources (CIKIB). He has successfully guided research work of 25 Ph.D. students and published more than 135 research papers in the journals of National & International repute. He convened several International & National seminars/workshops/Training courses. He has also organized 4 National conferences, 3 refresher courses. He has been associated with most of the academic societies. Dr. Sahu has explored number of floristically unexplored forest remote areas, of almost all remote parts of India. Dr. Sahu has visited France, Mauritius & Sri Lanka, on account of his research activities. He has edited one book entitled “Biodiversity and Sustainable Utilization of Biological Resources”. Dr. Sahu has contributed a lot in the maintaining and strengthening the Botanic Garden and to brought it to the International level. This Botanic Garden could become a member of BGCI and it is the only garden in the state, selected for implementation of International Agenda for conservation of RET species. He has been a principal investigator of several major research projects, funded by CSIR, MoEF, IIRS, IIN, NBRI. He is widely traveled person, teaching plant taxonomy for nearly 36 years and engaged in floristic studies since 1969.
P.K. Sahu
Dr. Pankaj Sahu did his M.Sc., Ph.D. from Dr. H.S. Gour Vishwavidayalaya, Sagar. He has published more than 20 research papers and participated in a number of conference including International Conference of Indian Botanic Gardens held at NBRI, Lucknow to discuss the National Plan for the development of botanic gardens in India. He is a recipient of Prof. S.B. Saksena, Faculty Medal. His Ph.D. work is on the study of the Floral Diversity of Botanic Gardens.
