Taken by Lies This book was twisted, dark, and compelling. I opened this book not really knowing what to expect. Having read the prequel, I couldn’t envision where the author was going to take us. At times it was difficult for my sensitive soul to read about what Kai suffered and what she was still experiencing in the aftermath. I felt conflicted knowing Enzo’s desires. In my wildest imaginings, I couldn’t have predicted this twist on Kai and Enzo’s story. But after what we learn in the ending, I’m even more desperate to find out what happens next. Betrayed by Truths I don’t even have the right words to explain what this book just asked me to experience. The truths revealed by this title are heartbreaking. And the emotional anguish Enzo and Kai go through brought me to my knees. All I know for certain is that I need these two together in the end, I’m just terrified of what’s it’s going to take in order to achieve that outcome. Every time I start to read a book in this series, I seem to have conveniently forgotten just how much of an emotional toll the last one took out of me. This was brutal and I was a bawling mess by the time I got to the end. I think the thing that frightens me the most is just how much more of the series there is left to go. The secrets. The double crosses. The heart-wrenching self-sacrifices. I don’t know if I’m going to survive it all. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

I read these books when they were released individually but it was great to read them again in a continued story. This series is absolutely amazing and takes you in the story right from the first page and is so addictive that you have to keep reading to see what happens next. There are twists and turns that you don't see coming and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. This box set is a must read and definitely worth more than five stars. Ella Miles is an incredible author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this box set. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this box set.

This contains the first three books in this 6 book series. Taken by lies: Incredibly emotional, well written storyline. It submerged you into a dark and dangerous world that draws you in and kept me reading. It keeps you guessing about the reasons behind things that happen, gradually revelling truths. I enjoyed the dialogue between Enzo and Kai as they struggle with their obvious attraction to each other. Kai's experiences are incredibly traumatic and although she maintains a inner strength she is obviously deeply damaged. Although the book doesn't go into major descriptions about the trauma she endured, the level of her damage and recovery are described. At the beginning I felt that the level of maturity for characters that were 16 and 17 was a bit unbelievable even with the lives they had experienced. The first book concentrates Kai's incredibly traumatic experiences which although she maintains a inner strength have obviously deeply damaged her. What I wasn't expecting was the level of damage Enzo has from his experience. Trapped by lies oh my gosh, can't believe what I've just read. What a Incredibly emotional, well written storyline. It submerged you into a dark and dangerous world that draws you in and keeps you reading, with a emotive fast paced changeable storyline. More truths are gradually being revealed, everything keeps changing and nothing is as it seems. That ending!!!!!! Can't wait for the next book
