About this ebook

He’s the bad influence they’re always warning us about.

And I’m the girl who should know better.

Hunter Reed is off limits. Not only because he’s a walking grenade who talks with his fists but because he doesn’t worship the right God.

We grew up adjacent, not together. Our houses are divided by a creek, but our lives are divided by our prejudices, our pain, and a religion I don’t have the courage to leave. But lately I find myself unable to look away from him. He’s seeping in, becoming the best and worst parts of this small-town life. And I have no idea what to do with these feelings growing inside me.

Whatever this is between us, it’s going to destroy us both…

Annie Wilson is a Jehovah’s Witness, a good girl, and deeply unhappy. Everyone can see that. She’s just too busy knocking on people’s doors to realise it. But there’s a shift in her lately. She’s waking up and getting curious about the world she’s been shielded from. And of all the people she could turn to during her rebellious stage, she picks me.

I don’t know why I play along. Maybe to stop her from doing something she’ll regret. But where’s the line? Because there’s no coming back from the place we’re headed.

Annie can pray all she wants, but no God of hers can save us from each other…

Shards of You and Me is a high-angst stand-alone forbidden romance packed with family drama. It contains language and themes intended for mature readers.

Trigger warnings: Child sexual abuse and alcoholism.

This book was soooo good and I couldn't put it down. I stayed up late finishing it and when my 6 year old woke me up at 530 am that morning I did not regret a thing! Tanya has such a way with creating characters that are flawed but still so likeable and relatable. I loved seeing Annie and Hunters story unfold and it gave my heart a few good twists along the way. Annie is so understanding and kind but still has this quiet strength that I really loved about her. There is some good back and forth banter between the two that was good for some chuckles and it offered good light moments between some of the heavier topics. Definitely my favorite read so far this year and I highly highly recommend it!

I’d say it was a quick and easy read, but it was only quick as I devoured it. It wasn’t easy because it also devoured and preyed upon my heart and emotions. Tanya has such a way of gutting you, stealing your heart, crushing your emotions and then putting them all back together again as you say thank you and ask for more. What a ride! I’ve read everything by Tanya Bird and I have never been disappointed. This one is special though. It will have you in your feels the whole book. If you’re fam

I read this whole book in one sitting. This author draws you in and you want to keep reading until you reach the end. She blends the unexpected of life and how the characters deal with that into a story that allows the characters to grown and become individuals I would want to hang out with in real life. Well worth your time to read.
