I have some mixed feelings on this one. First and foremost, it's a fun sexy read and one I would definitely recommend. Laramie and Sammi Jo are great characters and the story is very interesting and entertaining. What has my a little dazed is that it is not the typical SEAL story and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The relationship between these two is a little awkward for me. She's engaged although she knows everything isn't roses with her fiance. Laramie knows she's engaged yet there is plenty of sexy talk and flirting. I just found that a bit odd. Again, while perhaps not my favorite from this author, the story was fun and entertaining.

Christian "Cowboy" Laramie is all smooth-talking cowboy, as well as a dedicated SEAL. He's enjoying his success with the ladies too much and he's not getting hitched any time soon. His childhood friend Sammi Jo Wilson though he just a few weeks away from doing just that. If only she loved her future husband... During a dress fitting, she panics and runs! Laramie was just starting a three-week leave in his hometown, to be alone and finally get some peace and quiet, but Sammi's fiancé has been kidnapped, and Laramie's promise from a long time ago must be fulfilled... Oh to have a fictional hero as delectable as the hottie on the cover! Tawny Weber has penned a lovely story with a sexy cowboy and a genuinely sweet heroine, filled with sexy times and fun banter. We also get glimpses of our favourite SEALs, a great story with some suspense, great characters all around, and a Tawny Weber book wouldn't be complete without some food, and in A SEAL'S DESIRE, those tidbits are quite memorable indeed! Settle down in cowboy country for a good time and a steamy romance! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love a romance, with a SEAL, even better, and a cowboy is great—put them together and let me catch my breath! Tawny Weber has done it and man how she has! Cowboy is his call sign, women are his game, that is when he isn't on a mission, then he is all business. When you play with bombs you take it seriously. His team can't wait to come home either to their wives or to as many women as they can manage during their leave time. Laramie is different. He gets all the women he wants and sometimes more when he is state side between missions. His leave is for solitude. Except for this time. His old friend that he protected and fought for and with is all grown up and needs him. He just has to keep reminding himself that Sammy Jo is all grown up—and engaged. So what if she needs his help? That's all it can be. Right! Tracking down the missing husband to be isn't what he planned. The more he learns about the man and the situation the less he likes it and the harder it is. I mean the harder it is to keep his hands off of his friend. Their time together, although mixed with plenty of tension of the man/woman kind, there is a strong bond of friendship forging stronger than their youthful time. He's never felt this way about a woman and when the gorgeous sexy thing says she doesn't worry about the sex part, nothing to get all fussed up about—it's pretty difficult not to take the challenge even when it wasn't meant that way. This is sweet, yeah, even as hot as it is the characters are honorable, and honest and so right for each other. You will fall for both of them and be so glad to know this is a roman since we all know they has to be that ending HEA. A heartfelt recommend for this one. I receive an ARC for an honest review
