About this ebook

Reason in Revolt further develops the theory of Dialectical Materialism, using the most important scientific discoveries of the 20th century as a tool. First exposed by Marx and Engels, Dialectical Materialism is a comprehensive methodology explaining the unity of the laws that govern nature, science and society, from evolution to chaos theory, nuclear physics to childhood development. First published in 1995 to coincide with Engel's centenary, Reason in Revolt has had a great success around the world. It has been published in Spanish, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Urdu, and is now being translated into German and Flemish. The Spanish edition recently went into its second edition. To date, no one has found serious fault with the science of the book. And every new discovery of science serves to confirm the statement of Engels, that "in the last analysis, Nature works dialectically."

I had high expectations.for.this.book, but the authors.are.so misinformed about science and mathematics that their whole argument is discredited. I've no doubt that dialectical materialism has many merits, and current scientific dogma deserves a thorough thrashing. I just wish these authors had any idea of the actual position of the scientists and mathematicians they are criticizing. On the.other hand, the authors seem quite erudite otherwise, leaving me with the nasty suspicion they are well aware of the facts at hand, but are setting up strawmen to knock down instead, in an effort to more effectively convince their readers. This would.do Marx's dialectics a grave disservice by winning over the exact type.of.converts it does not need more of, shallow pseudointellectuals who cant effectively.counter an opposition they have no real clue about. Either way, this book was an insult to the.intelligence of any thoughtful and well informed.reader.
