About this ebook

Now a Hallmark Channel original movie called Picture a Perfect Christmas!

Unexpected events bring together a single father and a fashion photographer, who are united by their connection to a young boy and a mischievous dog, in this heartwarming Christmas romance.

David Murphy never knew much about kids. But when his brother dies unexpectedly, he is granted custody of his six-year-old nephew, Troy. He already has his hands full running his business, and he has no idea how to help the grieving boy. When Troy runs off one day, David finds him at a park playing with an adorable and rambunctious dog—who leads him to Sophie.

Sophie Griffith has spent her life travelling around the world as a photojournalist. She has never stayed in one place for long, and her new assignment—helping her grandmother for a few weeks—is just temporary. Once Christmas day comes, Sophie is off the hook and can leave for a new adventure. Caring for her grandmother is a piece of cake—but caring for her new Bernese mountain dog, Riggs, is a different story. It doesn’t help that Riggs strikes up a friendship with a lost little boy one day at the park—and leads her to David.

Neither David nor Sophie have time for romance. But as their faith and growing love for the boy and dog unites them, they are forced to decide whether their relationship is more than a fleeting holiday romance before the season runs out.

I found this heartwarming story to be just what I needed to read at this time of year! It was a wonderful tale of two people who thought they had no time or need for romance due to where they were in their lives. I put myself in both of their places and heartily agreed but sometimes love finds you when it's not convenient but it's the right time anyway! Can you imagine being a bachelor, in charge of your own software company and having grown up poor, your background is one of instability at best so your present life is one of trying to strive for stability when all of the sudden your brother & sister-in-law die and you are suddenly a 24/7 "father" to a young nephew! I cannot even imagine the upheaval that would cause in a man's life. David wants to do the right thing but raising a young child is a daily commitment and it's HARD! He's so in over his head! Then, there's Sophie, whose parents who are total over achievers and all her life have rather ignored her and brushed aside her dreams and aspirations. The only person who has ever loved her for herself is her grandmother. When grandma needs her one Christmas because of health reasons, Sophie drops everything and runs to her aid BUT Sophie is about to attain her dream in her profession as a well-known photographer on a photo shoot in the Alps! I loved seeing the dynamics between Sophie and David and his nephew, Troy. They all had real-life problems but dealt with them the way we all do! Grandma Louise was pretty special too. I would highly recommend this book. It a great holiday for any time of the year!
