The Seeker of Truth embarks on his perilous training in wizardry in the 2nd novel of the #1 New York Timesbestselling author’s epic fantasy series.

In Wizard’s First Rule, forest guide Richard Cypher becomes a Seeker of Truth in order to defeat the tyrannical Wizard Darken Rahl—only to discover that he is in fact Darken’s son. Now, with Darken vanquished, Richard and the beautiful Kahlan Amnell head back to the Mud People to be married. But their adventures are far from over.

As the wedding day approaches, Richard is visited by three Sisters of Light who insist on bringing him to the Palace of the Prophets to be trained as a Wizard. Meanwhile, the veil to the underworld has been torn, and the Stone of Tears has passed through. According to prophecy, the only person who has a chance at closing the veil is the one bonded to the blade, the one born true.

the s***** sequel to an amazing book. it's like Richard can't seem to think of anything except for two things his wife and his trauma. everything and anything else does not matter and must be dealt with shittily.pretty sad because he was really smart in the first book and figured things out well. most of these problems literally could have been avoided if he was thinking but he's not.

I have enjoyed this series for 15 years or more, but I was disappointed in the editing of this copy. It seemed as if every time the word "than" was supposed to be there, the word "that" took it's place. There were other editing mistakes, "the" in place of "they", missing words from the sentences, such as "to" and "be". I still love the book, but we still need editors in this world of digital writing.

Stone of tears was the first book I picked up of Terry Goodkind's. His repetitive nature that flowed through several of the series was for this reason alone. When new readers grabbed a book off the shelf they wouldn't be utterly lost, instead drawn in. Stone of tears and Faith of the Fallen were the best books of the series. Too bad ABC and Disney got the rights to the show, any fan of the books would know that only HBO or Starz (now netflix) could provide this series any justice. Great read!
