Unlike most books you will read. A rollercoaster journey taking many themes any guises. Interesting writing style, and good with it. You feel quite exhausted when you reach the end. Try it for yourself. You are the best judge but it might certainly be worth the try! Stick with the early part though.

It takes a lot to keep someone interested in a story as long as this. A plot so cleverly interwoven that you don't always see the twists and turns coming. It's a slow burner with bursts of energy that will make you read late into the night or miss your train stop on the way to and from work. I look forward to the sequel. I did wonder about the mirror though. Can't find any evidence to back up the supposition in the book. One other failing is the story rests on the Saracens willingness to save his own son instead of allowing his life plans to succeed. Jihadi terrorists like the Saracen would only be too glad if their offspring became martyrs in their war against the infidels.

It was gripping and entertaining throughout but the amount of 5 star reviews gives the impression that this is something special. It's not. It also is quite misleading in that the early scenes are implied to be directly linked to the main plot but by the end are revealed to be a complete red herring and almost outrageous coincidence.
