To all those moaning about not having a credit card, I only have a debit card and my details are accepted with no problem so try it and stop wingeing. Also if card details wernt checked to ensure age im sure those same people would be kicking up a stink about their kids getting hild of erotic books before they were old enough so wise up!!

The card details are taken so that after you've read a couple of chapters, I.e the free stuff. It's a simple one click no doubt to purchase the whole book. This is not something that appeals to me. I commit much thought to purchasing electronic only products, one click inclines me to impulse buying rather than reflecting on whether I can afford the purchase. For me at least, i'd rather a simple free download and buying if I'm so inclined, but not on cliff hanging tenterhooks!

It is free but if you don't have a payment option set up then it will ask you. And you can use a debit card coz I did. Even thought it says credit card. But once you have a payment option set up when you click the free button it says buy for £0.00 and I have done many of these and never had a problem. Sop just thought I'd let it'd know who might think why do I have to give my card details.

About the author

Tess Gerritsen (Author)
Bestselling author Tess Gerritsen is also a physician, and she brings to her novels her first-hand knowledge of emergency and autopsy rooms. Her thrillers starring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles inspired the hit TV series Rizzoli & Isles. But Tess’s interests span far more than medicine and crime. As an anthropology student at Stanford University, she catalogued centuries-old human remains, and she continues to travel the world, driven by her fascination with ancient cultures and bizarre natural phenomena.
