Informazioni sull'autore

John W. Mittendorf joined the Los Angeles City Fire Dept. in 1963. He held the rank of battalion chief with this department until his retirement in 1993. Mittendorf has been a member of the National Fire Protection Research Foundation on Engineered Lightweight Construction Technical Advisory Committee. He has provided training programs for the National Fire Academy, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the British Fire Academy. He has also acted in an advisory capacity for five college fire science advisory boards.
Chief Mittendorf is coauthor of The Art of Reading Buildings (2014) and author of Truck Company Operations, 2nd Edition (2010), Ten Commandments of Truck Company Operations DVD (2011), and Facing the Promotional Interview (2003), all from Fire Engineering Books & Videos.
The author of numerous fireground articles for fire service magazines in the U.S. and Europe, Chief Mittendorf currently lectures in the U.S. and United Kingdom on strategy and tactics, truck company operations, fireground operations, ventilation, and the complete fire officer. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of Fire Engineering magazine.

Dave Dodson is a 35-year fire service veteran, starting his fire service career with the U.S. Air Force. After the USAF, he spent almost seven years as a fire officer and training/safety officer for the Parker (CO) Fire District. He became the first career training officer for Loveland (CO) Fire & Rescue and was a shift battalion chief for the Eagle River (CO) Fire District before starting Response Solutions, dedicated to teaching firefighter safety and practical incident handling.
In 1997, Chief Dodson was awarded the ISFSI George D. Post Fire Instructor of the Year. He is a frequent presenter to standing-room-only crowds at FDIC.
