About this eBook

All credit cards have stopped working.  Today.  This morning.

What cash you have in your wallet is it.  ATMs and bank systems are down. You can’t get gas, groceries…  Commerce has essentially come to a halt.  Such is the backdrop of THE BACK DOOR MAN.

Our society is computercentric.  Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.  We’re plugged in.  Managing our finances online.  Downloading apps for our iPhone.  Reading the WSJ on our Kindle.

There are things out there on the cutting edge we don’t even know we need to fear.  THE BACK DOOR MAN takes us there.

We see it through the eyes of James Kolinsky, a simple family man who works in information security.  His day goes from bad to worse when he discovers that his greatest fear is his fault and what’s happened to him has happened to millions of others.

He’s been set up.  His family—make that the world—has been taken hostage.  The next twenty-four hours we find out what James Kolinsky is really made of.

Disclaimer: I'm a tough critic. Solid thriller, somewhat predictable storyline once it got going. The writing felt more amateur than the renowned authors I'm accustomed to reading, but it's not bad by any means. I work in IT and the technical explanations are accurate and not too technical for the average reader, IMO. This is worth your time, just don't expect Stephen King caliber of writing. 4/5 stars.

Too many 3-5 word sentences (some 1-2). Makes it cumbersome to read with all the pauses. 130 chapters with 270 pages (almost chapter every other page). Reiterates too many situations in different manners. Seems like it's crammed with alot of fluff just to fill the pages. Could have been done in 100 pages without unnecessary sentences and chapters.

I actually did enjoy this and it probably really deserves a 4 star review but, despite this being a quick paced and enjoyable story, I found it to be clumsy and to lose it's direction in a few spots. is it a fun read that's worth your time? Yes. Is it a spotless masterpiece of a triller? No, but it wax sure fun.
