This is the start of the "Fated Mates of Fortune Falls" series. Although there are some connected characters the story can be read as a stand alone read. This is a fairly short and quick read about Karter and Valery. He is a bear shifter who unexpectedly runs smack dab into a human, his fated mate. This is a good story that deals with loss, grief and unexpected demands. It is also has some entertaining bits and good banter. I enjoyed the story and love the characters.

In this story we meet Karter and Valery, a bear shifter and his fated human mate. Despite their instant connection, they are both experiencing challenges which make it difficult to progress their relationship. Kameron sensitively explores issues of loss and grief, and how it has impacted on Valery and Karter. I particularly enjoyed the intimate scenes between Karter and Valery, as well as the light hearted shenanigans of Karter's triplet brothers. I look forward to the rest of this new series.

I have been waiting for this story for a while and it did not disappoint. I thought the chemistry between Karter and Valery was adorable and I loved how concerned he was that he might hurt her. I also really loved the trio, who I absolutely can't wait to see more of. Those three are just about the funniest little cubs in the pack. I'm not sure how I feel about the sister quite yet. I was expecting a different vibe from her after the other book, and in this one, she kind of got on my nerves a lit
