About this eBook

Felicity was the only person in the world who knew her daughter, Hope, is heir to the Stolvenia throne. Until a newspaper leaks the story and now everyone knows—including Hope’s father, King Raphael. The media storm surrounding what’s being called the century’s most romantic story is far greater than either could have anticipated.

On the plus side, with the public crazy about their “love” story, support for a referendum to dissolve the monarchy is waning. And when Raphael shows up at her door with a proposal, it doesn’t take much convincing for Felicity to agree to a marriage in name only—at least until the votes are counted and the referendum fails. She needs to take care of her daughter and her wheelchair-bound sister who requires expensive medical care. Surely, becoming a queen and molding herself into a proper royal won’t be that much of a sacrifice to make to give her family comfort and security. And if she still loves Raphael? Well, that was another thing she could deal with.

Raphael has never stopped thinking about Felicity and wondering why she’d left him. She was the only woman he’d ever loved and for the past three years, he’d been trying to forget her. Now, not only had he found her, he’d also found out he was a father—something his devious late mother had tried to ensure he would never know. All that time, he’d thought Felicity cold and heartless, but now with her acting her part as the future queen, he’s seeing the future he’d once dreamed of for them—and the chance to bond with his daughter, to boot. The only trouble is…he has no idea how to be a husband. Or a father. Or anything other than a king. He’s lived for his people for so long—is it too late to learn how to live for himself, and open his heart to true love?

This novel contains sexual content and profanity.

I enjoyed Felicity and Raphael's story. The entertaining story line offers an attention keeping combination of heat, drama and emotional turmoil in a romance that I felt was quite plausible. Felicity, I really liked. She came across as realistic and relatable. Her struggle with her responsibilities and needing to take care of those she loved and her own wants and needs were an on-going battle and I think that is something almost all of us deal with. As for Raphael, he could be cold, distant and stoic. It was fun watching him realize that he had to evolve and change if he wanted to be more than just a King.

Rafael has to work to make Felicity his queen. As the kingdom of Stolvenia is facing an anti-monarchy movement, King Rafael learns the truth about why Felicity abandoned their relationship three years prior. He also learns he and Felicity now share a two-year-old daughter. For the sake of the monarchy, he insists that she return to Stolvenia with their daughter, and even decrees that they should marry. Throughout this story, Rafael’s focus is on appearances and protocol, rather than on developing his relationship with either Felicity or their daughter, Hope. While the eventual HEA showed him giving her the respect she’s due, his attitude leading up to that fell a little short of compassionate and understanding. Still, it’s a nice conclusion to the three-part story, and I enjoyed each of the books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I enjoyed this third story in the "European Billionaire Beaus" series. It's a fairly quick and addictive read with an enjoyable story-line and great characters. Felicity and Raphael were together at one time. Both caring a lot for each other, she finds out she is expecting his child and things happen. Sad but also happy. I enjoyed this story.

About the author

Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women's contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.

The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren't afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.

Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
