I liked this book. I kept reading it, even though it wasn't like anything I had read before and I didn't love it. I can see why many people rave about this book; if you are into fantasy fiction or mysticism of any kind, you would probably enjoy this. I liked it, but thought it was a little long and totally weird. It also was a little shallow, but I suppose it is about a demon child thief, so it can't get too deep. I still can't wrap my head around what I read. At any rate, it is violent, which made it exciting to read.

More of a gritty re-boot than a re-imagining. Similar in style to his previous novels, though it lacks the magically innocent brutality of the Plucker. Rediscovers the truism that fairy tales are really all about blood. Almost brutal enough to rival the eternity dancing in red-hot shoes and drowning in a barrel filled with nails as per Grimm's. Read it. Illustrations are typically Brom--angular gestures, classical composition, but hardly as inspired as the lush paintings and sketches from the Plucker or the Devil's Rose. The text is the real star of the show.

This is an adult telling of Peter Pan. I highly recommend this book. Would have loved to had a much deeper telling of the story. It just feels rushed. The artwork is Brom, so as always it is dark and beautiful, with that touch of sickness, stress, and despair that can always be seen and felt in a Brom painting. The only fault is the sense of epic-ness that is lost in a rush to include so many dark and wonderful creatures and characters, and leaves you salivating for much more at the end. Buy this book, you will not be disappointed. Arkansas, Male, 44
