The old abandoned mansion stood tall and imposing, looming over the dark forest that surrounded it. For years, it had stood empty and derelict, its windows broken, its walls crumbling, and its gardens overgrown.

But tonight, the mansion was not empty. A group of five young people had decided to spend the night there, seeking the thrill of spending a night in a supposedly haunted house.

As they stepped through the broken front door, a chill ran down their spines. The air inside the mansion was cold and damp, and the darkness seemed to seep into their bones.

"Are you sure we should be here?" one of the girls asked nervously. "This place gives me the creeps."

"Don't be such a wimp, Cindy," one of the boys replied. "It's just an old house. What's the worst that could happen?"

As they made their way through the mansion, the group laughed and joked, trying to keep their fear at bay. But as they reached the main hallway, a sudden movement caught their attention.

"Did you see that?" one of the girls whispered, her voice trembling.
