About this ebook

Morgan Reed is excited to open her beauty salon, but her goal gets complicated when she discovers her rented space is already occupied by hot furniture maker, Dallas Parker.

Morgan Reed is excited to return to her hometown of Christmas Mountain, Montana, and open her beauty salon, but when she arrives to her rented business space she’s shocked to find it already occupied by Dallas Parker—her brother’s best friend, the guy she had a childhood crush on, and the one her mom blames for their family’s greatest tragedy.

With their landlord out of the country and unreachable, Morgan and Dallas must open their businesses together. But, no worries, all small towns need a combo furniture store/beauty salon, right? Ugh. As they work together, Morgan tries to keep her emotional distance but time and off-the-charts chemistry soon turn a childhood friendship into a blossoming romance.

Unfortunately, just when their relationship develops into something deeper, an unexpected crisis re-opens her family’s old wounds and the blame is on Dallas once again. Will Morgan’s sadness and fear pull them apart, or make her realize Dallas has always been her heart’s true safe harbor?

Morgan leaves her life in Miami to start a new business in her home town of Christmas Mountain, MT. But when she gets to the store where she rented space for her salon, she discovers childhood crush Dallas remodeling the place as his new furniture store. They both have contracts with the landlord, who's on an African safari and unreachable. With their plans in limbo, they work on the remodeling together, raising old feelings. Dallas was there when the worst tragedy of Morgan's life happened, and her mother has never forgiven him. Plus, Morgan knows her mother will never approve when she learns Morgan is using her degree to start a business rather than taking a more stable job at her father's bank. Morgan will have to come to terms with her past if she wants to fulfill her dreams about her career—and her budding romance with Dallas. This book bears all the hallmarks of Hatler's light, funny, romantic style. But it also deals with the aftereffects that tragedy can have on a family, even decades later. Dallas and Morgan are a sweet, likable, appealing couple. Yet Morgan is still struggling to shed her desire to please her parents even when their wishes differ from hers. There are powerful reasons for this, and Hatler deals with them deftly. Thanks, Booksprout, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This book has it all, love, loss, second chances, awkward and hilarious moments as well as heartfelt times and best of all Christmas!!! I loved Morgan and totally got why she was hiding from her family, well mainly her Mum anyway and then there is Dallas (sigh) he is such a great and totally miss understood and the past that both he and Morgan have is not only funny but really special. I guarantee you won't be putting this book down as you get so drawn into it needing to know not only how things pan out for Morgan and Dallas but also with her family. This is the first book in the series that I have read and will be going back to read the first 2 now to see what I have missed out on in Christmas Mountain!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this book. I thought that the characters had good chemistry and I felt that story offered a good blend of cuteness and sweetness. This brother's best friend romance/second chance romance had a lot of charm and emotions. I did have some pet peeves with this book that included some pieces of the story that just seemed to be dropped along the way and how long it took Mrgan to finally show some backbone. Still, all in all, I found this an enjoyable read.
