Nina Bhadreshwar was born in Ipswich and raised in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, during the Yorkshire Ripper years and the Minersβ Strike. At nineteen, she trained and worked as a journalist at her local paper before setting up her own magazine, The Real State. Relocating to Watts, Los Angeles, following a tour with a Mexican-American theatre group, she covered the situation of the gangs post-truce and became the press officer and biographer of Death Row Records. She returned to the UK in her mid-twenties and re-trained as a teacher. Now, Nina is doing a PhD at Dundee University while writing her second novel. She is a graduate of the University of East Angliaβs Crime Fiction MA. The Day of the Roaring won Little Brown's UEA Crime Fiction award in 2022 and is her first novel.
