Gripping! Sue Fortin has really excelled herself with this terrific novel! Steph Durham is a travel journalist, and very pleased to get the chance to have an all expenses paid break in the soon-to-open luxury resort in the picturesque Lake District, in return for a article on her experience there. Before setting off, Steph finds herself agreeing to look into the death of Elizabeth Sinclair, dead wife of one of the three brothers responsible for running the estate under the watchful eye of their mother. Was her death suspicious, or is there nothing to find? By seeking answers, will Steph leave herself open to  danger? Steph is a very well drawn character; this story is beautifully written and well structured. A very enigmatic read, and one where I really didn't know who or what to believe. There are a good mix of characters .. likeable, hateful and several I really couldn't make up my mind about! Steph is a braver lady than me and goes through some really hair raising moments in her quest to seek the truth. This is one I really didn't want to put down! The story develops throughout the book and there is always something different to focus on and take into account. A stunning read, and one which I found to be both engrossing and exciting! Absolutely a five star read, and one the author should be very proud of.
