About this eBook

An isolated school for troubled teens. A series of mysterious deaths. A father frantically trying to rescue his daughter before it's too late.

When Ruth Price is suddenly taken from her home by two strangers, she's thrust into a terrifying world of secrets, lies, and betrayal. Claiming to be acting on her mother's wishes, the men transport Ruth across the country to a mysterious place called Broken Ridge.

As Ruth desperately seeks a way to escape and contact her father, she uncovers a sinister network operating just beneath the surface of society.

Meanwhile, Ruth's father has called in Ryan Lock to help recover his daughter...before it's too late.

This heart-stopping thriller delves into the shadowy world of American behavior modification programs, asking how far a parent will go to "fix" their child – and how far a child will go to be free.

Praise for Sean Black's Ryan Lock series:

"This series is ace. There are deservedly strong Lee Child comparisons as the author is also a Brit, his novels US-based, his character appealing, and his publisher the same." - Sarah Broadhurst, The Bookseller

"Black's style is supremely slick." - Jeremy Jehu, The Daily Telegraph

"The pace of Lee Child, and the heart of Harlan Coben." - Joseph Finder, New York Times Bestseller (Paranoia, Buried Secrets)

"The heir apparent to Lee Child" - Ken Bruen

'Ryan Lock (is) a protagonist tough enough to take on the Jacks of this world (that's Bauer and Reacher)' - Russel McLean

The story is good,it piqued my interest from the very start, few unexpected twists ,i keep on reading until i finished it ..see that's a good book right,i like when i read a book that play with my emotions which by the way lack in this book. The author should dive into the personality and elaborated futher the anguish of the children esp Ruth,Mary even Rachel..at least they should having nightmares.. And what happened to Applewhite.kind of dissatisfied and disappointing..

A truly action-filled story that holds on to essential good in people despite the terrible circumstances they are in. Decent language, good values, insight of really good soldiers, it's a treasure!
