The Guardians

This happened to Brian Moore at the beginning of his legal career. He thought he had frightened off the would-be assailant of two young women one night, on his way home after a ‘victory dinner’ with his colleagues.

Apparently it had not happened. The entire incident seemed not to have happened and he was mystified. He was also upset because the girl he saw most clearly was absolutely beautiful.

He expunged it from his mind. He had to for his own benefit, for his own mental health. It took a lot of discipline to do this, but there was a reward, his career soared.

And that, he thought, was the end of the matter...
