A chill wind whistled through the gnarled branches, carrying whispers of forgotten tales and chilling the bones of those who dared to venture close to the edge of town. Among the cluster of dilapidated buildings stood a legend—a house long shrouded in mystery and fear. Its weathered wooden walls bore the scars of time, and its windows were dark voids that seemed to swallow the light. The locals spoke of it in hushed tones, calling it "The Hatchet House."

Karen, a curious and adventurous soul, couldn't resist the lure of the Hatchet House. Ignoring the warnings echoing in her mind, she made her way through the overgrown path that led to its eerie facade. Her footsteps crunched on fallen leaves, each sound sending shivers down her spine.

As she approached, the door creaked open, revealing an interior draped in shadows. Karen's heart raced, but an unexplainable force pulled her inside.

The interior was a haunting spectacle. Tattered curtains danced with the breeze from broken windows, casting eerie shadows that played tricks on the mind. Karen's footsteps echoed through the empty halls, the sound resonating with a foreboding sense of dread.

In a forgotten corner, she stumbled upon an old, rusted hatchet. Its wooden handle was weathered, the metal blade tarnished with age. The air grew colder as Karen's fingers grazed its surface, and a distant whisper echoed through the halls.

Suddenly, a voice spoke from the shadows, sending Karen's heart pounding against her chest.
